Commodore’s Column

by Cliff Donoho

The sun is shining again. Its not news, but it certainly is welcome, as warm sunny weather makes us all feel good and generates activity on the water and off.

Much of the news is being reported by others in this issue. Keep yourself up-to-date on Club matters by reading it all. Check out the calendar of future events for those you can't miss. Make a dinner or event reservation, sign up for a regatta, plan to come on a Saturday or Sunday to just hang out. You'll enjoy yourself and make new friends.

Each month, on the evening of the 4th Thursday, your officers and directors meet to discuss issues, make decisions, set policy, and otherwise direct the affairs of the Club. Many things happen behind the scenes on a daily basis that require management action and decisions. We have a very able full-time Club Manager, Ingo Schreiber, who, with the help of the rest of the staff takes care of most of our daily management concerns. The officers and directors also work hard for you, attempting to preserve and enhance the Club and its culture. Your thoughts and ideas on how to do things better are always welcome. If you would like something considered, let us know in person, in writing, or by attending a Board meeting. In that respect, always check with me in advance if you wish to attend one of our meetings, as we normally have a full 3 or 4 hour agenda. My e-mail is cdonoho@pacbell.net

I don't wish to bore you with news of past and future events that our very active event and committee chairs are reporting on in this issue, so read on to find out what's happening in your Club.
