Lunch on Fridays

By popular demand lunch is now being offered on Fridays at CYC. Take advantage of a great way to get an early start on the weekend. Chef Ian is featuring a special entrée of the week in addition to the soup and salad bar, hamburgers, and chicken sandwiches. There will be something to tempt the palates of all Corinthians and their guests. Meals including bar service are available every Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m.

Parking Situation

As we all know, parking at the Club can be a real bear, especially on Friday nights during the racing season. I have come up with a few realistic statistics that may explain why we have a problem. On any given Friday night, if one were to assume that out of the sixty plus boats racing only twenty are from CYC, and that their crews average three club members, we have already occupied sixty of the sixty-five existing spaces. Add a few race committee slots and the lot is full. We then need to take into consideration the Friday lunch bunch who are having a great time and may wish to stay and the usual Friday night dinner group and the cup runneth over.

As a point of information we made a fifty percent check of the lot on April 7 and found only one car without a sticker (a brand new car). It is absolutely imperative that we keep the fire lanes open and do not double park cars even with keys left inside. Let's all join in the Corinthian spirit and remember it's first come, first serve and when the CYC lot is full, please park in the lot across the street. We all have to do it from time to time. Towing would not be a good alternative.

Web Site

Kudos to Bruce Powell for updating our website and making it an exceptionally attractive site with great ease of navigating around while catching up on the news at CYC. Check it out at www.cychistory.org. THANK YOU, BRUCE!!

Kids at the Club

Now that summer is upon us many more children are coming to the Club and they are a welcome sight. For the safety of our CYC kids please be reminded that children are required to wear PFDs around the water at all times. Parents may wish to refer to the House Rules and General Rules and Regulations listed in the Club Directory and check out requirements that apply to children while they are in and around the club. We need to keep in mind that the club stage, wall hangings, railings and artifacts should not be considered as things to play around and can be very dangerous. Let's have a safe and healthy season for Corinthians of all ages.
