Cruise to Encinal Yacht Club
June 24-25, 2000
By Trip Ames
Jill and I are your cruise captains for the June 24-25 Encinal Yacht Club cruise. We are also one of those "new" members from Paradise Cay (thank you, Hans) and are excited about participating in the CYC cruise program, and meeting other members.
Encinal has organized an exciting evening of dining, dancing and entertainment specifically for us and their own members. The theme is American Bandstand and we will re-live the 50's and 60's with a sock hop and rock'n'roll. Which one do you remember? There will be great food (basic - no fu fu stuff), outstanding music, prizes for the best costumes, a twist contest and more.
Cocktails are at 6:00 P.M., dinner and dancing - 7:30 to 11:30 P.M. The cost is $24 per head and we must make reservations early. This event will surely be a sell out, so please sign up now. To sign up, please call or e-mail me with the usual cruise details: names, boat name, length, beam, special needs or requests. Or, sign up on the board at the club. EYC is going all out for us, so let's do it up right: big turn out, costumes and danc'n shoes. One last thing, Jill and I will host a pre-cocktail cocktail party on our boat at about 1630.

Cruise to Half Moon Bay Yacht Club
July 22-23, 2000
By Ron and Torild Roberts
Join us for an ocean going cruise to Half Moon Bay. For those of you not used to ocean sailing, a caravan will leave the CYC at 9:00 a.m., and if there is fog, boats without radar will be sandwiched between boats with radar, for safety. When you arrive, you'll enjoy a wine tasting contest and chicken or salmon dinner. More info
1st Annual Salmon Derby
August 20, 2000
By Herb Rodricks
Mark your calendars for this fun-filled fantastic day. Tiburon Land Company is sponsoring a fishing derby and all CYC members and guests are invited. For those without their own boats, we are having the party boat, Wacky Jackie, pick us up at our clubhouse. We plan a weigh-in (for fish only), a cocktail party, and a salmon dinner in the member's dining room, to complete the day. More information will follow in the next TELLTALE, but for now, reserve the date and mark your social calendars, as you won't want to miss this event. If you want further enticements, call me after June 5.
News From the Entertainment Committee
By Ed Fischer
Last month over 200 e-mail messages were sent attaching the announcement for our Mother's Day Brunch. About twenty came back with an undeliverable address. The information was taken from the 2000 Club Directory. If your address is not correct, has changed, or if you are not listed and you would like to receive CYC information electronically, please let me know and I'll add you to the list.
My e-mail address is epfischer@hotmail.com.
Mother's Day
Although the weather looked more like that of a Midwinter's Race in January than what you would expect for Mother's Day, it was still bright inside the Corinthian Yacht Club dining room. The Chair of the event was Marj Bundshuh who we can thank along with the staff of both our Club and the Corinthian Catering Company and harpist, Michele Sell, who added to the ambiance in the dining room. One child (albeit an older one) thought this was the best brunch ever. Wow! This special day was a sellout event.
On the Horizon:
- Father's Day
- This Father's Day is on Sunday, June 18th. This year arrangements are being made to take photos of our Corinthian families. Watch for the flyer being mailed in June and for e-mail information for those of you with e-mail addresses. Make your reservations early.
- Cabaret Night
- The date is tentatively set for November 5th. Anyone interested in performing or volunteering to assist the able producer of this evening of entertainment should contact Robbie Cook at (415) 457-7683.

Editor's Note
As Commodore Diana mentioned in her column, the TELLTALE is now a three-person effort: Dick Slottow writes and reports and Bruce Powell and I produce the newsletter. Due to the addition of Bruce we just might be able to put out an issue every month, since Bruce and I will do alternate months (at least that is our hope). Because we plan to do this every month, we can then establish a fixed monthly deadline for submission of articles from the membership. So here goes. The deadline for submission of material for the TELLTALE is the 15th of each month, with stuff going to me in the even months and to Bruce in the odd months. Both of us prefer to get your input electronically, and e-mail makes life much easier for us. Our email addresses are:
Bruce Powell: bruce@brucepowell.com, Harry Blake: harrywblake@home .com.
