The 2001 Entertainment Committee met for their first meeting of the new year on January 27. Events were calendared and various committee members volunteered to chair specific parties. This years committee members include Sharon Barr, Marj Bundschuh, Esther Lerner Carrico, Beverly Dunn, Nancy Giachino, Marie Jurajoria, Torild Roberts and Sandra Solomon. New Years Eve 2001
Oh la la!! What a fabulous gala. Many club members and their guests experienced an Evening in Paris bringing in the first year of the new millennium. Congratulations to Mary Sue Thomsen for creating a Parisian ambiance beyond comparison from the vendor cart filled with fresh flowers outside the club entrance to the Arch dTriomphe backdrop displayed on the stage in the ballroom. Many thanks to the CYC staff for handling reservations and assisting with decorations.
Thanks to Ed and Jeanne Walker, Marie Jurajoria, Jeannie Pagnotta and Bob Crenshaw for helping set up prior to the party. Appreciation goes to Karen Gilbert, Jeannie Pagnotta, and Ed and Jeanne Walker, who served as event photographers. Accolades to our chef Ian Morrison, party planner Leila Heyman and all CCI employees for providing a meal par excellence along with superb service. Bravo to our club member wine connoisseurs for selecting the French wines for the occasion and to John Guzy and his bar crew for doing a magnificent job serving throughout the evening.
A real unexpected treat occurred when our own Colette Clowes pleasantly surprised us by singing a couple of French songs. Merci, Colette. Fair weather permitted viewing of the fireworks across the bay. Another wonderful New Years Eve celebration at CYC has become a pleasurable memory. Cheers to all in 2001!
Upcoming Event: St. Patricks Day, March 17
Our Catering Company is planning a theme dinner that will take place in Members Dining on Saturday, March 17. Chef Ian Morrison will feature a couple of Irish entrees in addition to the regular dinner menu for the evening. Following the Horsfall/Vincent Regatta, a good plan would be to stop in the Bar for your favorite brew and then enjoy some traditional Irish faire. Dont forget to wear something green. Advance reservations are always appreciated. |
