This issue, as many others would contain mainly text if it weren't for the efforts of our talented photo photojournalist, Marcia Peck. This month Marcia brought her Canon to Bastille Day and the Clambake, taking 175 photos.

She also took another 25 photos of CYC racing (one of which is used in Ron Roberts column) which will help my co-editor, Bruce Powell and me, enliven the TELLTALE for months to come. Finally, her photos accompany her Who Are Those Guys column, which features Loran Mebine this month.

Speaking of Bruce Powell, as most of you know, he is not on only co-editor of the TELLTALE but he is the creator and editor of our fabulous website. In this venue he can include many more of Marcia's photos than we are able to fit in the printed version - and they are all in color. Just point your mouse to http://www.cychistory.org/ to see much more of Bastille Day and the Clambake. Also, please remember that Bruce is editing next month's TELLTALE.

Finally, through a combination of procrastination and sloth what was supposed to be the August issue, is reaching you near the end of August. So I've decided to simply call it the September issue. After all, when you get your favorite magazine near the end of a particular month, what publication month is listed on the cover? Right, it's the next month. So with this arrangement your editors can get future issues to you near the end of the month and you will think our timing is spot on. All this to say you didn't miss your August issue; there just wasn't one.
