Commodore’s Column

By Ron Roberts

It’s springtime at the Corinthian! Have you been down to the club lately to see how we’re sprucing everything up? Have you seen how fresh and clean everything looks? Are you getting ready for Opening Day?

April 27th is Opening Day on the Bay. This year’s theme is: “The American Spirit – Stars and Stripes Forever.”

If you want to enter the PICYA Boat Decorating Contest, information is available at the club or at their web site at www.picya.org. The deadline for application is April 5.

Also, don’t forget that we have our own boat-decorating contest on Saturday April 26th. Whether you’re decorating a boat or not, it’s a wonderful day to come by the club and enjoy the pre-Opening Day festivities.

For those of you new to the club, we will be having a whole weekend full of activities and fun. There are parties on Saturday and Sunday. Come and share and partake of the Corinthian Spirit. Opening Day is a wonderful time to make new friends and get to know old friends better. Please come and enjoy this wonderful tradition.

Please keep in mind that our parking lot gate is now working again. Please bring your gate key with you and remember that only one car per member or member’s family is allowed at a time.
