COMMODORES' PICNIC - Labor Day - September 4,

Plan to join fellow members at this years Commodore’s Picnic held on Labor Day. The picnic will be held at the club and there will be games and prizes for every age group. The flyers went out in the August Billing and were e-mailed to everyone I had an address for.

COMMODORES' BALL - October 23

This year’s theme will be the “Corinthian Yacht Club–Through the Years” and all are invited to come dressed in the period that the club has been in existence. Be sure to come and celebrate your Corinthian Yacht Club’s past history. The flyer with the particulars will be in the September billing.

CABARET NIGHT - November 4

This year the Club is having its first “Cabaret Night” on November 5th. The cast of performers includes over 25 Club members who have been rehearsing every Tuesday night at the Club for the past six weeks under the direction of Jackie Taylor. Robbie Cook is coordinating the event.

The event will include over a dozen individual performances, several duets, and two men's choruses–one from CYC and the other from the St. Francis Y. C. that includes CYC member Herb Meyer. A few good men are needed for the CYC Chorus. Please contact Robbie Cook or Jackie Taylor if you want to join them; no previous experience is needed.

Because of increasing popular demand, the Commodore has asked the group to consider doing the show on two nights to give more opportunity for the membership-at-large to see the show. Since the event is being held in the downstairs dining room, seating will be limited. We will keep you posted on its status.

The event needs the help of anyone interested in lending a hand with staging, lighting, sound, costumes, make-up, etceteras. Sponsors are invited to support the event by donating time, materials (we need some lumber for a 6 inch high stage), and financial support, for which they will be credited in the Program. The Catering Company has already come forth to help pay for the professional accompanists. To support this event, contact Robbie Cook at Tel: 415 457 7683 or Email: rchash@aol.com.
