Cabaret Night Extended to Two Nights

by Robbie Cook

In response to popular demand, the Corinthian Cabaret-By-The-Bay has been extended to two nights, Saturday and Sunday, November 4th and 5th. The pre-show dinner and music will start at 7:00PM on Saturday and 6:00PM on Sunday. The show has been rehearsing for the past eight weeks under the direction of our own Jackie Taylor; I am producing the event. The show includes the performance and help of over 25 Club members. Ten stouthearted men have formed a men's chorus, representing a wide cross section of membership, including Michael Campbell, Dan Carrico, Will Deady, Bjorn Ervell, Bill Kramer, Bill Miller, Gordon Noble, John Taylor, our own General Manager Ingo Schreiber, and I.

Herb Meyer and the St. Francis Yacht Club's men's chorus, the acclaimed Sons of the Sea, will be guest performers.

Esther Lerner-Carrico, known for her performances at Opera Nights, will be showing her versatility with several popular numbers. Else-Liv Skaar, who sings everything from "torch" to light opera, will be a soloist. The three divas - Jackie Taylor, Else-Liv Skaar and Esther Lerner - will open the show.

Marney and David Margules will perform both as soloists and as a duet. David may be better known to you as the Cantor at the Club's Opening Day. Gordon Noble, John Taylor, Bill Miller, Dan Carrico, Fred Matteson and John Campi will also be performing in a variety of solos, duets and trios. Guest soloist Bill Watson will perform for his fifth consecutive year at the Club. The performers will be accompanied by Elaine Lang, a professional pianist and teacher from Tiburon. Entertainment will open and close with the music of Judy Hall, a professional jazz pianist playing with Staff Commodore Bill Canada on drums and TELLTALE Co-Editor Harry Blake on tenor saxophone; they will be backed by Espin Skaar, son of Else-Liv and Kjell Skaar, on base. Barbara Klein is helping with the production of the show. Staff Commodore Tom Maxwell and our weekend Harbor Master Hans Anderson, both of whom are in the staging business, are helping to stage the event. At this time we wish to thank the Corinthian Catering Company for their generous donation for the musical accompaniment. Get your reservations early because this will be a sold-out event. more info
