"The Martini Cruise”—Vallejo and Martinez

You are invited to join us on the Memorial Day Weekend “Martini Cruise” to Vallejo and Martinez, Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th. This cruise is open to a limited number of boats.

Plans for Vallejo include hors d’oeuvres (provided by the cruise captain), cocktails, followed by dinner at the Vallejo Yacht Club. We’ll be joined there by the Berkeley and Ballena Bay Yacht Clubs, who will be berthed in the Municipal Marina next door. We’ll be visiting the Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum and the Vallejo Farmers Market on Saturday, both within walking distance of the Club. Questions or comments – please contact your Cruise Captains, Bill & Nancy Giachino at ngbg@pacbell.net.

In Martinez, Vali Cooper Bedey will lead us to “The Birthplace of the Martini”. This will be followed by dinner at a fine local Italian restaurant. Contact Vali for more information at vali@valicooper.com.

We’ll send those signing up more details on both destinations! Martinis ahoy!!

Pt. San Pablo Cruise

The March 31st cruise to the Point San Pablo Yacht Club in Richmond was well attended by 18 Corinthian yachts and 75 CYC members. The always cordial Pt. San Pablo welcoming committee treated Corinthian cruisers to an excellent prime rib dinner and generous service from their well-stocked, but low-priced, bar. The real treat of the evening was reserved for the cool sounds of the Night Train Jazz Quartet, led by Staff Commodore Bill Canada on drums, and accompanied by Telltale Editor Harry Blake on sax. Many thanks to Bill and Chris Canada for their time and effort in leading this first cruise of the 2001 season.
