The Corinthian Women
By Alix Fagersten How do you think our grand clubhouse looked this holiday season, by the way? I think it looked beautiful! All seem to agree that it has been a wonderful place to spend time with friends during this holiday season. And as usual around this time of year, The Corinthian Women could be seen busy decorating and organizing events to get us all in the spirit. Thanks to all who helped make the Corinthian Yacht Club shine during the holidays. This year's Egg Nog party, was again, a huge success with a great turnout. Eggnog and sparkling wine was flowing as members made their way around the tables overflowing with goodies. Thank you to Bev Dunn for chairing this special event and to Karen Burnsworth for helping her out. And let's not forget all the members who brought the goodies thank you! Following the Egg Nog party, the Corinthian Women all got together for a fabulous Annual meeting on December 10th. Old and new members were in attendance as we thanked our 2003 officers for a job well done! With that, Sharon Marsh Barr, Paula Hansson, Marie Jorajuria, Alix Fagerst--n and Tari Nix passed the torch to our new 2004 Corinthian Women officers: President - Jane Elkins, Vice President - Susan Travis, Secretary - Shala Morid and Treasurer - Cindy Marques and Marie Jorajuria. Congratulations ladies! The (almost world famous) Santa's Brunch was sold out as usual with over 160 adults and kids searching the horizon for a glimpse of our own Mr. and Mrs. Clause arriving by tugboat. (see photos on p. 4) What a magical moment for both young and old! Thanks to Teresa Prescott and Alix Fagersten for chairing this special event. Further thanks go to Kim and Sharon Marsh Barr, Gunnar and Mary Ellen Wetlesen and most importantly John and Mary Anne Bogue. Is it too early to ask what's next? Maybe, but the Corinthian Women can promise a lot of new items and super-dooper specials in the club store for the Mid Winter's regatta beginning with the January 17/18 weekend. Don't miss out! We look forward to seeing you in 2004!
This year seems to have come and gone so fast-- I can hardly believe it. But for us Corinthian Women, we are all left with great memories and new friendships from 2003. Please remember-- The Corinthian Women meet the second Wednesday of every month in the club library at 6:30 PM. All women of the Corinthian Yacht Club are welcome and encouraged to join the fun! The Corinthian Women is a great organization and a wonderful way to meet new friends and get involved in the club! |
