On The House
by Bruce Powell In case you haven't noticed, there are some new things going on in both the Member's Bar and Member's Dining Room. I invite you to come down and enjoy the great new specials: Daily Drink Special priced at $2.00, all day every day the bar is open. It might be Hot Toddies, Dirty Martinis, Bloody Marys--come over to find out! Happy Hours: Saturdays and Sundays from 5 to 7 pm, well drinks and draft beer are just $2.50! Happy Hour Bar Food: not just popcorn any more! Chef Ian will be providing a platter of hot and spicy buffalo wings, and veggie dip, every evening in the Bar. And we're now keeping a variety of tasty crackers and pretzels at the bar all the time. Chef Ian's Cocktail Appetizer Menu: now you can be served special appetizers from the bar during dining room hours, like Chilled Malpeque Oysters, French Fries, and the weekly special appetizer. Recently it was spicy Thai Parmesan Crusted Calamari Rings, they were great! It changes weekly, so give it a try. Prix Fixe Sunday Specials: In the Dining Room, we'll be introducing a "Sunday Special" Prix Fixe Dinner that includes a big family-style salad and french bread, all inclusive for just $15! (except Lobster Night) The regular Sunday menu will also be available. Here are just a few of the Sunday Specials coming up:
Theme Nights: In addition, the Entertainment Committee is preparing a schedule of special Theme Nights throughout the year, starting with a Mexican Fiesta in May. Super Bowl Sunday: we'll have a special Super Bowl menu served in the bar and happy hour drink specials during the game on Feb. 1. Come watch the game with your buddies on our big plasma screen! Then stick around for the $17 Sunday Special Lobster Dinner later that evening. Crab Fest: mark your calendars for Sunday, March 7; our super-popular fresh crab dinner in the Grand Ballroom will be better than ever. E-mail Bulletin: Speaking of which, if you'd like to receive periodic updates on what's new at the Club via email, simply go to the club web site, and click the link on the home page for the "E-mail Bulletin". Do you have some ideas or a suggestion on things you'd like to see this year in the Bar or Dining? Do you have some ideas for theme nights and Sunday Specials? Ideas for Thursday Bar and Dining (hint, hint)? Would you like to see a Game or Poker Night? Want to have espresso drinks (cough, ahem) at the Club? I want to hear from you. This is your Club and together we can make it what we want it to be. Drop me an e-mail at vicecommodore@cychistory.org. |
