 CYC/TYC Friendship Race

Those of you who participated know that last year’s TYC/CYC Friendship Race was a big success. TYC got 17 boats to the starting line and we had 12. If you figure an average of 6 crew per boat plus a number of non-racing members from both clubs who came for the party and dinner after the race, we probably had over 200 people at our club. It’s almost time do this annual regatta for the second time, so mark your calendars for Saturday, June 16. TYC won in a closely fought team race last year, so let’s get more Corinthian boats out this year and bring the perpetual trophy to our clubhouse!
Corinthian hosted last year’s event, which means it’s TYC’s turn this year. Since TYC will not have an occupancy permit by race day, we will once again use the Corinthian facility, but the running of the race and all other organizational matters will be TYC’s responsibility. Last year we had a band after the race and a ribs and chicken dinner. While no formal planning has been done yet, I’m sure we’ll have something to eat and music again this year.
