Commodore’s Column

By Ron Roberts

Season’s Greetings and good cheer to all!

Have you seen the club lately? It’s sure looking a sight. All decked out in the Holiday’s Finest. All sparkling and shiny. Come on, boaters, get up those lights!

For those of you who couldn’t come to the Holiday Decorating Night, it was a wonderful introduction to the Holiday season. Thanks to Paula Hansson, everything was so organized that it seemed more play than work. I would encourage more people to mark this night on their calendar for next year. It’s really a special time to take a few minutes to stop by the club and help make it festive for everyone.

Following this was the traditional Eggnog Party on Saturday the 8th. This event always stands out in my mind as the official opening of the holiday season. It always seems like it’s impossible that December is already here. It’s so welcoming to stroll around the grand table with good friends. Sampling the treats and morsels. Meeting old friends and making new ones. Watching the sparkling lights from the City bounce across the bay. Yes, it’s Christmas Time at the Corinthian.

Also, don’t forget that it’s a nice quiet time at the club these evenings with piano bar nights on Fridays until Christmas. A good time to get away from the hustle and bustle. Bring your friends and family down to eat. Come on down and relax and enjoy the beauty of the bay at night.

Boaters, it’s time to check those lines and fittings for winter’s upon us. Make sure you always have someone check your boat after a storm.
