Vice Commodore's Report
by Cliff Donoho
Here we are, one month into the new year as elected Club officials, with the Holiday season coming at us rapidly. It will be 2003 before many of us realize 2002 is history. The past couple of years have been difficult economically for many, but our Club has weathered them well, and working (and playing) together we will have a successful and fulfilling year ahead.
The House Committee is our primary duty, and there were more volunteers than we needed, which is good. My experience is that smaller committees work better than larger ones, so I had to make the hard choice of disappointing a few volunteers. The appointed committee members are; Anne Scully, Cindy Marques, Dan Carrico, David Johnson, David Schwartz, Ginny McCarthy, Horace Wulff, and Sandra Solomon. This is a great group of talent, which includes past experience on the committee, running their own company, running their own restaurant or catering company, executive chef, hotel hospitality, and business executive. We hope to make a noticeable beneficial impact on your social experience at the Club.
You can help the committee, and the Club, by providing feedback on your experiences in the bar, dining room, and ballroom. The best ways to do that are to ask for and fill out the dining room evaluation card when dining at the Club, and/or to E-mail me, any member of the committee, or the Club manager about both positive or negative experiences involving service, food quality, or related issues. My E-mail address, which you will find in the Club directory, is cdonoho@pacbell.net.
Remember to decorate your boat for the Holidays.
