It is winter. The icy gales sweep from the north, chilling all in their paths. Fortunately, we live in California, and we can look forward day after day of sparkling, light, sailing.

Preparations for the 2003 Midwinter Regatta are underway. We are hoping to match last year’s races for fun and participation! Eric Artman has volunteered his boat as committee vessel, which should be cozy, and we have special trophies this year.

As an extra incentive for CYC members to enter early, we are offering an additional $5 discount (on top of the $10 early bird discount) to CYC members who sign up by December 24 using their club accounts. Imagine racing for just $45! After that, the entry fee will be the usual $60. The entry form for the race is at our Club website: www.cychistory.org.

Race Committee Positions Available

We are getting ready to roll for another great year of racing. Come join the Undisputed Masters of the Known Universe by being a member of the CYC Race Committee. Seriously, this is a fun and interesting way to support the Club and to meet other members, new and old. Also, we get to shoot guns.

I will host an orientation and training meeting on Saturday, January 11 at noon at the CYC Clubhouse.
